Are you Ready?
London is an expensive city, but if you’re coming for a short time then the luxury hotel scene is not to be missed. Its one of the best cities in the world to go all out, and where the building you’re staying in is as memorable as the city around it.
So I have curated a nice little list of the best London hotels for a short stay with your other half. I was thinking of adding a price range of reasonable to high end. But whats the point aye! Lets go high end with each offering something a little different, and so it begins!
Introducing the Foster & Partners-designed ME hotel in the old Marconi building at one end of the Aldwych. The reception area features a wonderful 30 metre atrium, you will struggle not to feel as if you have boarded onto a luxury space station. The sleek and monochrome rooms are cleverly equipped, and include various light settings which again add to the futuristic feel. The Rooftop is an impressive cool terrace that serves brunch during the day and becomes the place to be at night! Very glamourous and very chic – this is where you get the best photos for the GRAM! (do it for the gram)
STK – STK sing it with me STK!
The STK steak restaurant is glamorous and energetic, while the in-house Italian is a lot quieter. The location of the hotel sits well for a late romantic stroll along the Thames. Or a shopping trip to buzzy Covent Garden, trust me guys you will love it!
The Landmark Hotel
Introducing Mini Dubai. In a city that harbors impressive dining spaces, the restaurant at this hotel still manages to be amazing. Situated beneath an eight-storey glass roof and lined with palm trees and balconies. The Dubai feel is in full effect as you’re in an exotic outdoor setting rather than a 5-star hotel close to Baker Street.
Most importantly the food matches the environment, with lavish modern-European cuisines served by night and one of the best breakfasts in London. The Landmark London is charmingly old-fashioned so you have to experience afternoon tea, as the luxurious atmosphere matches the impeccably personable staff.
Shangri La Hotel – The Shard
Okay, allow me to tease your decision making here!
The real reason why you should pick the Shangri-La over other luxury hotels in London is, the breathtaking views. Its located at the top of The Shard which is London’s tallest iconic structure. You will witness the whole of the city, whether you’re dining, swimming or reading the Lifestylerebel on your bed. Watching the light change in the sky as London sleeps, wakes, works and plays is really something special. The hotel and its staff provide an outstanding service which are the hallmarks of the Shangri-La’s brand reputation. The European-Asian food and stylish cocktails are a real treat (at TĪNG and GŎNG respectively). And the indoor pool almost at the very top is a small slice of “must see pie” – another opportunity for the GRAM. If you were to stay here you might witness regular Cultural Salon events – with many more exciting speakers upcoming for the year.
The Wellesley Hotel – Personable Service
Lets all take a moment here. The Wellesley is in London Hyde Park Corner, which is basically its front lawn with Buckingham Palace. Your neighbour is the Queen guys!
Inside the Art Deco hotel made out of a beautiful 1920s townhouse – lies a unique fantastic Oval Restaurant, serving some of London’s finest Italian dining! There is a Cigar Lounge with a private humidor and the Jazz Lounge, is where you can relax with your cocktails listening to some Jazz!
This is an intimate hotel, the spacious rooms come as a surprise. Even the less expensive suites have room to relax, and all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury hotel! This is where to go for one of the very best options for a personable service and intimate treat!
The Savoy Hotel – The History
Introducing British glamour since it first opened its doors in 1889 and becoming the first luxury hotel in London – the Savoy! Today, the rich history of the hotel mirrors its First Class modern service and facilities. Check out the art deco of the famous American Bar, or the more contemporary luxury of the Beaufort Bar. Sample the traditional roast and seafood at Kaspers and not forgetting the classic afternoon tea – still one of the best in town. The Savoy is still among the very best hotels to stay in London, and cannot be matched in the sense of historic splendour! The amount of famous faces I see for afternoon tea is unreal but the overall grandeur of the experience is why it’s a definite treat for your date!
The Mondrian – The Rooftop Bar
The Morgan Group’s latest opening is on a former shipping company and the maritime theme is everywhere! There are model ships with a custom designed ground floor that curves like a ship’s hull from the lobby. A downstairs riverside restaurant, Sea Containers, and bar, Dandelyan, which showcases a huge green marble bar and is headed up by Mr Lyan, twice crowned as the UK’s best barman.
Now on the top floor – that’s right theirs another bar, The Rumpus Room. It has unbelievable views across the river to the city and back towards the West End – (Do it for the gram). So, with the unique styles and décor you probably have never experienced, plus the vast array of bars with amazing views. All you will have to do next after impressing your date is to add the cherry on top. Bathing in the white Agua Bathhouse & Spa downstairs. Now that is a day well spent and and gaining major brownie points, so what are you waiting for!!!!
As always – #livebetter
